BOY'S VINTAGE TRANSPORTATION BEDROOM
After months of dragging my feet, Joe's big boy bedroom is finally complete. The truth is, Joe's been ready to get out of his crib for quite awhile now. Me, on the other hand, not so much.

SEA MONSTER BATHROOM
Joe's bathroom was in desperate need of a change. And well, I just needed a distraction. (The perfect combination!) He's been really into cars, trucks, and boats lately...pretty much anything that moves. I was thinking maybe a boat or pirate themed bathroom, so I started searching for shower curtains first. I came across an adorable whale shower curtain on Society6, and it instantly became the inspiration for Joe's new sea monster bathroom!
PORTHOLE CHALKBOARD
I could not decide what to put above the towel rack for the longest time. I wanted something to fit the theme, but not in an obvious way. I started searching online for different artwork, and came across a painting of a boat with a porthole, which then led to me searching real portholes. Funny how ideas come about.

MOOD BOARDING: MID-CENTURY FARMHOUSE
After almost 2 years of living in our house, we finally have the front room finished! Well, almost finished. Technically the "before" picture is an empty room, but here's a picture from our house listing.

EASTER HUTCH
Spring is in the air! Which means goodbye evergreen dishes, hello spring colors! I will admit, decorating our kitchen hutch is one of my all-time favorite things to do. (Even though my husband rolls his eyes at how many sets of dishes I own). It's located in the center of our kitchen and really sets the mood for our whole house. And well, it just makes me happy.

KITCHEN HUTCH
We have a strange layout in our kitchen. I love our kitchen, but it's strange. We have plenty of cabinet space, but we don't really have any drawers. We also have a pretty big empty wall in the middle of it. The previous owners had a tiny 2-person table and chairs, but it seemed like a waste of space given we have a bar top and stools.

GENDER NEUTRAL NURSERY: POLKA DOTS & CHEVRON
I wanted to make our nursery comfortable and inviting because I knew I was going to be spending a lot of time in there over the next year. James and I decided early on that we wanted our first born's gender to be a surprise the day of delivery. But decorating a gender neutral nursery proved to be harder than I thought. Everything I ended up finding tended to lean boy or girl, so I decided to do a more generic sky theme and really play up patterns.
